Design Pathway

Foundations of Design (ADST 200) - Semester 2 only

(Dual Credit course in partnership with Athabasca University: 5 high school credits/3 university credits)

Students enrolled in this course will explore the creative design process through a series of composition, abstraction and design projects. The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the creative application of analytical skills, imaginative conceptual thinking and form-making abilities. Students will be introduced to a design process based on original thinking, in which they will synthesize collected information and draw conclusions based on established premises. The course will also demonstrate how to generate a number of design alternatives and evaluate and select the most appropriate one. Prerequisite: via an application process
