Career Directions is an event held at Centre High Campus, once each semester, to showcase post-secondary, career information and experiential opportunities for students.
Education and career planning are processes that are most engaging when students are actively taking part. Career Directions provides the interactive component that helps students make choices and move forward along their career pathway. Most of Edmonton's post-secondary institutions are represented as well as many from around the province.
Students select a minimum of three information sessions to attend, according to their plans and interests. They can learn program-specific information like competitive averages for admission, scholarship opportunities or speak to a person in the field they are considering.
There are information tables for various institutions, as well as employers recruiting staff. There are volunteer agencies explaining their goals and projects, while providing opportunities to become involved.
