Hospitality and Tourism

5 credits - each level

Students will be introduced to Hospitality and Tourism by exploring the sectors that make up the industry. The goal of this program is for our students to POP; to be Professional, Organized and Polished so they will excel in any off-campus experience, their current employment and future careers. The skills developed in this pathway are extremely transferable to any line of work that deals with service to any type of client, customer and guest.

The course will focus on developing effective interpersonal relations, professional communication skills, and effective collaboration. Research, information management and presentation skills are also a large part of the program. Students will have weekly visits from industry experts, perform off-campus observations, and participate in tours and job shadowing opportunities. Students will have the opportunity to attain the relevant certifications and training needed for the employment areas of interest to them.

Level 1 – students will meet with their cohort in a traditional classroom setting to learn the foundations of the industry.
