Work Experience/Career Experience
At Centre High Campus we work as a team to find the best career path and career experiences we can for the students. This may include safety courses, Work Experience or any other form of Off Campus positions. All students wishing to register in an Off Campus Experience will be required to attend class during the period identified on their timetable. A combination of the following courses may earn you over 40 credits.
Ambassadors (2 credits)
Centre High Campus Ambassadors is a team of students that represent the school by assisting at school and community events. Ambassadors are involved with various business partners and charitable organizations, serving as role models and facilitators. This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer experience and develop interpersonal skills while helping the community.

Automotive Overdrive (3 - 40 credits)
The Edmonton Motor Dealer's Association (EMDA) has teamed up with Centre High Campus and NAIT to place interested students into the Auto Service Trade. Students will be interviewed by CHC and the EMDA and then placed in a work experience placement as an Automotive Service Technician. This placement could eventually lead to a RAP (Registered Apprenticeship Program) placement for the student where they can obtain hours towards their apprenticeship.

Career in the Trades / RAP (3 - 40 credits)
Students participate in coursework geared towards safety and employability skills. Students first complete WHMIS safety and first aid modules and then successful students may begin work experience that may lead to an apprenticeship in one of the 51 trades. Once they are placed in the RAP program, this will allow them the opportunity to learn on the job and to acquire hours towards their journeyman's status. Students can earn up to 40 credits towards their high school diploma.

Military Co-Op (20 credits)
Students will earn Work Experience credits, be paid and receive the basic military training qualification that is required by all members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Please note … this course will require full afternoons.
Required prerequisite: Completion of grade 10 or equivalent with a minimum of 33 credits

Work Experience/Career Experience (3 - 18 credits)
Centre High Campus offers a Work Experience program that encourages students to become involved in a new learning experience. After completing the pre-requisite safety and workplace training at Centre High, students will be able to use a paid or volunteer position to explore a future career and receive practical on-the-job training; all while earning high school credits. Students will develop work search strategies and tools to access a registry of employers partnered with CHC or local, provincial and national job banks to seek employment.
