Centre High Campus offers students the opportunity to challenge a wide range of post secondary courses. Successful completion (67% or over) of these courses may earn students post-secondary credits.

A+ Computer Repair and Networking (6 credits)
Students enrolled in this course will be introduced to computer hardware architecture, operating system software, and networking with the purpose of troubleshooting and desktop support. Students taking the advanced course will build on the knowledge from the introductory course.  Students may have the opportunity for field experience. Upon completion of the introductory and advanced courses students may choose to write the CompTIA A+ certification exams. Students may also challenge, and earn advanced credit in NAIT's CNA111, ETC294, or CNT294 courses.

Business Communications (6 credits)
Business Communications is a practical and creative course dealing with oral, written and multi-media communication skills. The focus is on document writing, multi-media application, marketing and advertising whilst analyzing pop culture. Students will improve their business writing, presentation skills, and overall current event/societal awareness. Students will also gain advanced credit for Communications 1 (JRSB101) at NAIT and for two other Communication courses at Lakeland when they successfully complete the course with a mark of 67% or greater. This course is also an equivalent to Introduction to Composition, a 3-credit NorQuest course.

Required prerequisite: 65% in Eng 30-2, or 50% in Eng 30-1

Business Computers (6 credits)
Business Computers introduces students and their applications in business. Students will improve their knowledge of computer hardware and software, communication, networking, and ethical and security issues. There will be an emphasis on the use of Microsoft Office. This course is equivalent to NAIT's Business course JRSB150 - Introduction to IT. Students must achieve an average of 67% or greater on all aspects of the course to earn advance credit in JRSB150 at NAIT.

Business Math / Accounting (6 credits)
Centre High's Accounting/Business math course offers an introduction to business related mathematical topics. These include Finance, Personal Investing, Tax Planning, Personal Cash/Credit Management, and Retirement Planning. At the completion of this course, students may have the opportunity to challenge, and earn advanced credit in NAIT's Introduction to Finance course (JRSB125) when they successfully complete the course with 67% or greater. 

Recommended prerequisite: None (60% in a grade 12 math or equivalent is required to qualify for NAIT "Introduction to Finance" credits)

C++ Computer Programming 25, 35 (6 credits)
This course provides a brief introduction to the IBM (and compatible) personal computer and to Windows operating systems most commonly used in PCs. This is followed by an extensive coverge of the fundamentals of high-level language programming using Microsoft's Visual C++ for Windows. Course topics include: introduction to PCs and Windows; introduction to the C++ language; C++ operators and expressions; conditional statements; looping statements; top-down program development; functions; arrays and strings; and string functions. Students have the opportunity to challenge, and earn advanced credit in NAIT's CNT151, CNT252, IST135 or IST110 courses.

Engineering Prep Course (6 credits)
An introduction to C++ programming designed for students planning to enter Engineering. Although not recognized by U of A, this course will prepare students for success in the Engineering program. Students may have the opportunity to challenge and earn advanced credit in NAIT's CNT252 course.

Required Prerequisite: C++ Computer Programming 25

Nursing / Practical Nurse (5 credits)
This program will deliver Anatomy and Physiology instruction to students. Successful comletion of this course will give students headed into nursing a greater awareness of the expectations in this field. Upon successful completion of this course, students may receive credit in the ANPH1001/2001 Anatomy & Physiology course in NorQuest's Practical Nurse program. Students going to any of the health fields in other institutions will benefit from this course because it can serve as a foundation to any Anatomy &Physiology course.

Pharmacy Technician (5 credits)
This short term course is geared for students wanting an introduction to the field of pharmacy. It will lead to advanced placement in NorQuest College's Pharmacy Assistant Diploma program and immediate employment. Upon successful completion of this course, students may receive credit in ANPH1001/2001 Anatomy & Physiology course in NorQuest's Pharmacy Technician program.

Required Prerequisite: 60% in Biology 30

Physical Therapy Assistant (5 credits)
An introductory course to the field of physical therapy; this short term course will lead to advanced placement in NorQuest College's Physical Therapy Assistant Diploma Program and immediate employment. Upon successful completion of this course, students may receive credit in the ANPH1001/2001 Anatomy & Physiology course in NorQuest's Physical Therapy Assistant program.
